With InterGard gone and much of the Wiggerverse in ruins a new power arises to conquer the stars once more. The robotic metalclones, called The Caste are spreading their influence across creation. However they are not uncontested, an alliance of several distinct rival hiveminds have arisen to destroy the threat posed by the merciless Caste.The first two of these hiveminds were once a single entity called Jin, now it is split into two warring factions, the Firebloods and the Darkspawn. Despite their difference they have temporarily put aside past grievances to combat the Caste.

Fireblood clones are, like most clone races descended from InterGard battleclones, they have a shimmering visage but are still formed from the same GANIC cloneflesh that almost all clones are made from. Darkspawn Clones are again, descendants of InterGard clones however they are tainted with Demon Blood which has twisted them into half spectral beings, Darkspawn's Hivemind is almost bestial in it's method and slowly an surely some of it's clones are starting to show more savage features, although most of these would not manifest until long after The Polymidian War



Another Hivemind which forms part of the Polymidian Alliance is the Mycelian Overmind which uses a special form of Battleclone, derived from an experimental replacement to GANIC Cloneflesh which was abandoned by InterGard. This SLIMIC Cloneflesh is a mold like fungal material which while not as durable as GANIC is far easier to cultivate and can be grown without the need for GANIC Growth Tanks. Instead it forms in dark and decaying places feeding off dead GANIC, animal and plant matter alike. This has led to the Mycelian Overmind being nicknamed "The Carrion King" by other Hiveminds. The Overmind itself is a reclusive figure, rarely manifesting an avatar and it's motivations are unknown. Despite forming a vital part of the Alliance, The Mycelian Overmind is considered an untrustworthy ally at best, and a potential traitor at worst. However as a mind dependant on the organic cycle of life, it's hatred of The Caste's Ironwill AI hivemind cannot be disputed .

The Races of Maxedonia

  There are several sentient races on the world of Maxedonia. The smallest of them are the Gnomes, around half the height of an Elf they are individually weak and cowardly but in numbers they have a massive advantage. The Elves of Maxedonia are basically just humans. No pointy ears or inherent magic ability. I feel this is an overused trope in creatures with the name elf. Also they aren't a bunch of pansy tree huggers either, they are an industrial steam driven imperialistic people with a desire to see all of Maxedonia under their command. Basically the British empire. Trolls on the other hand are far more primitive minded. A few might carry black powder weapons but they are far more comfortable with crossbows and longswords. Trolls ARE inherently magical but my magic system will likely be more fairy-tale esque and not "harry potter" or "midichlorian BS" systems of spellcasting.
