War for Maxswana (BenEarth)

Image
In the year 2027, Maxswana was invaded by the neighbouring Zenithistan after a large gold deposit was discovered in the Maxamoko Region. The Zenithians superior military technology and might saw them quickly sweep aside the defenders and install a puppet government, The Maxswanan Central Council (MCC) This new regime was certainly less corrupt than the previous dictatorship the country had lived under and for many within the more densely populated areas it saw their quality of life improve exponentially. Railways were built, schools opened and clean water became commonplace. However in the more rural areas many were discontent with the new government. Better policing meant Warlords and corrupt local leaders were unable to operate in broad daylight. Not to mention the massive mining operations being conducted by the Zenithians were devastating the Jungles and farmlands of rural Maxswana. It was a group of Warlords and exiled nationalist generals who decided enough was enough, gathe...

The Races of Maxedonia

Image
There are several sentient races on the world of Maxedonia. The smallest of them are the Gnomes, around half the height of an Elf they are individually weak and cowardly but in numbers they have a massive advantage. The Elves of Maxedonia are basically just humans. No pointy ears or inherent magic ability. I feel this is an overused trope in creatures with the name elf. Also they aren't a bunch of pansy tree huggers either, they are an industrial steam driven imperialistic people with a desire to see all of Maxedonia under their command. Basically the British empire. Trolls on the other hand are far more primitive minded. A few might carry black powder weapons but they are far more comfortable with crossbows and longswords. Trolls ARE inherently magical but my magic system will likely be more fairy-tale esque and not "harry potter" or "midichlorian BS" systems of spellcasting. Don't expect trolls to be lifting objects with their mind or hurling lightning b...

The Red Order - Dragons

Image
The Red Order is a multiverse spanning secret society of Alchemists, Dark Scientists and Wizards, they are masters at the art of Bloodshaping. A way of altering or even creating new forms of life. Opposing these maniacal foes is Intergard, a sort of super secret interdimensional police force, but we will cover them later. Dragons are massive winged reptilians whose origins can be traced back to the earliest days of the Red Order. The first Dragons were created by alchemically fusing a White Serpent with a Gargoyle and a Vampire. The resulting creatures inherited the ferocity of a Gargoyle, the strength of a White Serpent and the beyond human intellect of a vampire. Although these creatures were intended to serve the Red Order as elite shock troops, they are now it's rulers. Every Dragon has a unique shaped skull and body structure although those hatched from the same set of eggs will look similar. They also vary greatly in size and mannerisms. Although one thing they all have in co...

Holy Mormon Empire Part 1 - The Legions and Temple Guard

Image
Shown here painted but with unfinished bases.   The Mormon Legions are the elite standing army of the Holy Mormon Empire. Meticulously drilled and rigidly trained they march in perfect order across the battlefield, every hundred men commanded by a Centurion they are a force to be reckoned with.  Each Century of Legionaries carries their own flag as well as the national flag of the HME, but with red stripes instead of white. This is not only to match their scarlet uniforms but to honour the blood shed during the first Utah War.  The Legions do not use artillery or cavalry and instead rely on Militias and Indian Axillaries to provide them with this support. Many Centurions in the legions are ex-Temple Guard linemen. The Mormon Temple guard are the most elite infantry in the HME, and arguably on the entire continent. They wear sacred uniforms of white linen and carry the flag of the church instead of the HME national flag, symbolising their absolute loyalty to the LDS...

Introduction

Hello all, this blog is dedicated to showcasing my figures I have painted for Imagi-Nations projects as well as a bit of fantasy/sci-fi on the side. I have been thinking of ficticous countries for as long as I can remember but using miniatures to take them into reality has been absorbing hobby for me for the past few years. This blog is meant to collate these efforts into a single webpage. I hope you enjoy the forthcoming posts and leave a comment or two to let me know what you think. Cheers, Max
